I will always be a die-hard autumn lover. I enjoy really everything that goes along with it: the colorful trees, all the apple and maple flavored drinks and pastries, and yes, especially the rain! When I set up this photoshoot with London and Brooks in Boise, Idaho for the first week of November, we had no idea what type of weather we were in for once the date finally rolled around. Though all weather apps showed clouds only, a few hours before our session time frame, a massive purple cloud swooped over Boise and began hailing so intensely that it looked like it had snowed in the aftermath. Waiting until the hailstorm passed was certainly a no-brainer, but upon shooting a text to London, we agreed that in event of clouds or possibly some light rain, we would brave this chilly and somewhat unpredictable fall weather for sake of really diving into the grit of the afternoon. We concluded that the rain would only make the colors more vibrant and exciting, and we were sooo right in the decision that we made. Luckily, the freak storm rolled by and we were met with what we had originally expected- clouds and just a few sprinkles of fresh November rain. Originally being from Northern California, I have lived in a place to be able to see real autumn color, but normally later in the year, around the middle to end November and lasting until around Christmas. I think of it as being "squished," the time between autumn and winter is quite fleeting and the two seasons definitely run into each other around the holidays. However, many Californians are not partial to rainy and cloudy weather, so I've reserved most of my "foul weathered" shoots for personal creative projects. So, with that said, having clients who were so down for the rain made me beyond excited. I could not wait to play around with a landscape where the saturated hues of the trees truly were able to pop without being in competition with a bright blue sky. We ran up and down the streets of the North End, embracing the cold and having fun, and I could not be more overjoyed with the result. To see a few shots from our cute little adventure, scroll below!
