Meet Amanda
To know me is to know I have a deep affection for the idea of home, the warmth of a familiar room, the turn of a season, towering pines, and the details that make a place feel lived in. This is also what draws me so deeply to photography: the way a place can hold a feeling, and the way people can do the same for one another. I love when a laugh gets loud, when someone reaches instinctively for the person beside them, when a room feels like it could belong only to the people inside it. Inevitably, there is something of me in every photograph I make. Not as an imposition, but as an authorship; the work is personal, and a human perspective becomes part of what I offer to you.
I studied photography formally at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, but most of what I know has been learned through simply being there: in changing light, old and new places, crowded rooms, quiet ones, and everything that resides in between. My work is primarily digital, with film woven in where its texture and surprise feel fitting and support the heart of the story. I’m interested in photographs that keep a slice of life within them — images that feel intimate without being precious, polished without losing their humanity, and unmistakably tied to the people who made them.
Based in Southern Idaho and frequenting Northern California. Est. 2016.
